Share a note, or a whole notebook
Plan a trip together, keep a shared shopping list, or hand over the meeting notes. Choose Share in a note’s menu or a notebook’s menu, and the other person gets every change, on every one of their devices.

- Share is in every note’s menu, and in every notebook’s.

How it works
- Name the person. Give them a nickname. Only your devices ever see it.
- Send the code. Jotry gives you a code to send however you like: a message, an email, in person. It works once, within one hour.
- They accept it. They paste the code in Jotry, and the note or notebook appears on all their devices.
There are no accounts to look up and no public links that anyone could open.
Private, even when shared
- End-to-end encrypted. A shared note is encrypted under its own key, which the server never sees. Nicknames stay on your devices.
- Notebooks stay in step. Notes you move into a shared notebook are shared too, and notes you move out stop being shared.
- Edits merge. Two people editing different paragraphs at once both keep their changes.
- Pins, order and archiving stay yours. Each person organises shared notes their own way.
Leaving and stopping
The person who shared can invite others, remove people, or stop sharing. Anyone else can leave. Either way, everyone keeps a private copy of what was shared, and when someone leaves the share moves on to a new key.
