Organising

Notebooks when you want them, pins for what matters, and an Undo button instead of “Are you sure?”.

Notebooks, if you want them

Jotry never asks where a note should go. A new note lands on the home screen, and you can file it later or never. When you do want structure, notebooks keep related notes together, like bound volumes on a shelf.

The notebooks drawer
  1. Default holds the notes you haven’t filed. They’re also on the home screen.
  2. Each notebook shows its volume number and how many notes it holds. Its menu renames, reorders, archives or deletes it.

Inside a notebook, pinned notes come first, then the rest, newest first.

Pin what you use most

Pin a note and it stays at the top of its list, with a pin on its card. Pinned notes on the home screen sit above everything else.

Select several at once

Press and hold a note to start selecting, then tap the others. Move them to a notebook or delete them together, or use Select all.

Moved to trash, with an Undo button
Changed your mind? Every delete and move shows Undo for a few seconds.

Undo, not “Are you sure?”

Deleting and moving happen straight away, without a confirmation dialog in the way. Instead, an Undo button appears for a few seconds. Deleted notes go to the trash with their history, so even after the Undo button has gone they’re easy to bring back.
